Sheffield Wednesday are sending a senior official to Bulgaria this week to hold talks over Lokomotiv Plovdiv youngster Eyad Hammoud. The forward is only 15 years old, but has already made his debut with the Bulgarian side.
Scouting Team have confirmed Greg Batten, Head of National and International Academy Recruitment at Sheffield Wednesday will travel to Bulgaria tomorrow. The Sheffield Wednesday official is expected to remain in the country for a couple of days, and the purpose of his trip to hold talks over Hammoud. It’s not been reported whether these are just initial talks or whether Sheffield Wednesday are ready to offer the youngster a trial.
Last year Hammoud made his senior debut, and in doing so became the second youngest player to play in the Bulgarian First Division. On his debut the young forward provided an assist in his side’s win, and has since gone on to make another two appearances for the club. Hammoud has also represented Bulgaria at youth level.
