As Carlos Carvalhal keeps looking for players from the Portuguese league, it seems that Sheffield Wednesday have a new target on their list. The Owls have reportedly bid €3.5m for Pedro Santos from Braga.

O Jogo says the bid is financially very good for the Portuguese side, but they’ve rejected it due to their lack of players for the position.

CapturarBraga are in the process of losing Rafa Silva to Benfica and are looking for a replacement for him, so selling another winger is not a possibility right now.

O Jogo says Braga had already received two offers from France for the player, which weren’t higher than €2m, meaning again that Wednesday’s bid was very good, but impossible to be accepted right now.

After Rafa’s exit, Santos is considered to be the best player of the squad. The 28-year-old has a contract with Braga until 2019.

There’s a week left of the window for things to change on this one, and Sheffield Wednesday get their man.
