Serie A champions AC Milan are in the mix to win the Italian title again this season.

The Rossoneri, who will be thankful to be finally back at the top of domestic football, are only three points behind Napoli with the majority of the season left to go.

Ahead of the January window, it’s thought in Italy they’ll need to make two additions, but those will have to be value moves. The Italian club no longer want to throw money around and are being careful with their funds.

According to Davide Luciani, that brings Sheffield United and Blackburn Rovers into focus.

At the Blades, the target for Milan is Sander Berge. The 24-year-old has again been a regular for Sheffield United this season, and has a contract with the Championship club lasting until June 2024.

Ben Brereton Diaz is unsurprisingly the target at Blackburn Rovers, with the 23-year-old striker having found the back of the net seven times already this season. That his contract expires next summer is obviously seen as a boost.

Luciani, writing for SportCafe24, believes Berge has a reasonably good 30% chance of the transfer, whereas Brereton Diaz is put at 25%.
