It doesn’t seem to matter where Patrick Cutrone goes these days, the striker cannot seem to establish himself as a starter.
The 23-year-old’s decision to leave Milan (if he had any say in the matter, that is) has derailed his previously highly promising career, with the move to Wolverhampton Wanderers causing nothing but problems.
There was hope that a loan to Fiorentina would fix that, although it did anything but, as Cutrone was sent back to Molineux for a handful of games in January before being shipped out again, this time to Valencia.
Spain hasn’t been fruitful for the forward either, as he’s managed just 55 minutes of football spread over four substitute appearances under Javi Gracia.
Speaking to the media after the game, the Wolves man explained his situation, admitting it isn’t exactly the most ideal.
He said, relayed by SuperDeporte: “The season is tough for me, I can’t find the continuity that I’d like on the field, but I’ve always done my best because this is the best sport in the world and I think my moment will come. It’s true that I have not played in a long time, so it was not easy, but I always train at my best and wanted to be ready when my opportunity came.
“Many had doubts about my physical condition, but I almost managed to do the full 90 minutes tonight. I thank the coach for his trust. He always believes in me and has faith in me, which means a lot”.
