Sicilian newspaper Giornale di Sicilia on Thursday back up claims that Birmingham City have made an offer to Robin Quaison. It’s stated the offer wasn’t to the player’s club Palermo, but rather to the footballer himself.
Quaison’s contract expires at the end of the current season so Birmingham would be well within their rights to start talks and even get a pre-contract agreement signed with the attacking midfielder.
However Giornale di Sicilia report that Quaison’s reaction to the Birmingham offer is that he would prefer to wait until the end of the season, expecting better offers, both financially and on a sporting level, to come in.
German club Hoffenheim are said in pole position to sign the 23 year old Swede, but he believes more clubs will come forward as he approaches the end of his Palermo contract. At the same time, due to interest from Birmingham City and others, Palermo are gearing up for one last push to get Quaison to sign a renewal with them.
The Italian media reported on Thursday that Roma are also interested, and this may be one Birmingham City will have to walk away from.
