Croatian international Luka Modric signed a new contract at Real Madrid that could keep him at the club till 2020.
Modric has been speaking to Spanish daily AS, and was asked about his arrival at La Liga club from Tottenham in 2012.
The Croatian insists he knew it’d be difficult at the beginning, but never doubted his abilities.
He said:”I didn’t. I knew I was coming to the world’s biggest club. The demand was high. I didn’t start well, but I never doubted myself. I knew I would succeed. It was very clear.”
Modric added that he is hoping to retire at Santiago Bernabeu, and is still looking to win more silverware at the club.
He arrived at Real Madrid in a €30m deal from Tottenham, and has made 180 appearances for the Spanish giants.
