Earlier today we covered claims from Italy that AS Roma and AC Milan are both interested in Rangers fullback Borna Barisic.

Rangers are all over the European media today having beaten Celtic on Sunday. Steven Gerrard’s men have been receiving increasing coverage since he took over at the club and the weekend victory, thanks to goals from Ryan Kent and Nikola Katic, has hyped things even further.

That means there’s more interest in Rangers players, and not just Alfredo Morelos.

Roma were said to see Barisic as an understudy and eventual replacement for Aleksandar Kolarov, whereas Milan could look to him if Ricardo Rodriguez finally finds a buyer.

It wasn’t made clear whether the interest was for the winter or summer transfer window.

Now Roma Press have spoken to the player’s agent to ask specifically about interest from their local club.

Ives Čakarun didn’t waste any words and got straight to the point by saying: “It’s only interest at the moment.”

This one clearly has something in it, but would seem to be in the very early stages.
