Playing a European tournament with Steven Gerrard in charge is obviously a good reason for Rangers to draw the attention from the international media. Now their good form this season is seeing the Glasgow side get even more coverage.

Mexican newspaper Record today features a two-page story on how the Scottish club are unbeaten this season. ‘He doesn’t lose quality’, their headline says, following the 3-3 draw against Benfica.

The outlet claims that Steven Gerrard shows the same quality as Rangers manager as he used to do in Liverpool’s midfield, and is now leading the club to a season with no defeats so far.

Record writes that the Gers have a ‘modest’ squad, with ‘no big names’, but are successful using an offensive 4-3-3 system made to give Colombian star Alfredo Morelos with chances to score.

Record writes that Gerrard seems to be ‘working’ to get back to Anfield in the best way, because since retiring, he’s ‘done nothing but show his quality’.

That’s Rangers getting all the spotlight from Record’s international section, as all other leagues are featured in shorter stories.
