With Julen Lopetegui turning down the chance to take over from Bruno Lage at Wolverhampton Wanderers, the Premier League club are having to look elsewhere for a new manager.
One of the names mentioned a while ago was that of Mainz 05’s Bo Svensson, but that was before the Spaniard was dismissed by Sevilla.
However, with Wolves now having to find someone else, reports in England have suggested the Dane could be back on the club’s shortlist.
That being said, Bild in Germany don’t believe there’s any chance of the manager leaving his role at the Bundesliga side.
They even outright ask if Mainz fans should worry, before answering ‘Probably not’.
That’s because Svensson already addressed talk about an exit last week, when he was asked about the rumours sending him to Brighton before Roberto De Zerbi was appointed, and said ‘he sees his future’ where he currently is.
We covered those, and it was made clear at the time that Mainz man had not been approached by anyone else, which would include Wolves.
Of course, that could change now that Lopetegui has taken himself out of the running, but with him appearing uninterested in leaving, the Molineux side probably have other names in mind.
