Jurgen Klopp sent back Mamadou Sakho from Liverpool’s pre-season tour of United States due to disciplinary concerns.
Klopp, however, admitted it has nothing to do with Sakho’s future at the club, but it was a decision he had to make.
The French defender is currently nursing an injury, but reports in Italy link the player with a move away from Liverpool.
Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport on Sunday have declared Roma’s interest in Sakho on their front page.
CDS say AS Roma are looking for a left back this summer, but they could also sign a central defender who can play at left back.
It is reported Sakho fits the requirements, and AS Roma believe a loan deal for the Frenchman could be easier.
The player was also linked to AS Roma last summer, and CDS say Liverpool didn’t approve a loan move that time.
Liverpool don’t really have too many centre-back options at the club, and it’s a bit difficult to see them let Sakho go unless they sign a replacement.
