On Friday, Portuguese newspaper Record brought a story saying Norwich City were close on signing Filip Krovinovic from Benfica.
It was claimed ‘everything indicated’ the player would move on a one-year loan deal, with the Canaries having advantage against the competition because they’re an English club.
Now it turns out that another club from England have joined the race. Because as once again reported by Record, West Brom are interested in the midfielder as well.
The newspaper doesn’t bring any details on how the chase stands, despite saying that it’s the English clubs who should have an advantage against the likes of AEK and Vitória Guimarães.
What they say is that the player was close on joining Vitória Guimarães, but a better offer could take him elsewhere. That perhaps means a bid for a permanent deal would sound better, although they only name Norwich, and not West Brom, in the race.
Now even though it’s not mentioned, Norwich City’s promotion to the Premier League should clearly give the Canaries a big advantage over West Brom in this race.
