The links between Manchester United and Umaro Embaló won’t vanish until the youngster leaves Benfica, so fans from both clubs should get used to it now.

The 16-year-old has been involved in heavy speculation in the past transfer markets. First a deal with José Mourinho’s side was said to be agreed, then the player even travelled to Germany to sign for RB Leipzig, but all these moves collapsed.

With the interest from United revealed by his agent Catio Baldé, papers are free to continue with these stories, and that’s what happens in a paragraph written by Correio da Manhã today.

The outlet claims that both United and Leipzig are preparing a new attempt to land the winger. Correio actually doesn’t bring many more details, despite mentioning the past attempts from both sides.

It’s believed that Benfica want at least €15m for the player. Quite an impressive amount, since Embalo isn’t even considered to play for the first team yet.

RB Leipzig seemed very close on paying that amount of money, but it seems that Manchester United’s interest has never got that far. Because despite that news of an agreement that never happened, a bid from the Red Devils has never been reported.

So the interest seems real, but convincing Benfica to sell is another matter altogether.
