Alexis Mac Allister is the man of the moment in Argentina.

The buzz around the midfielder started with his move to Brighton, since the Premier League side have paid Boca Juniors to cut his loan spell short and take him to England right now.

His form in the Pre-Olympic Tournament for Argentina is a reason why things got bigger. He’s scored four goals in three appearances so far, and has been leading the national team to Tokyo.

Outlet El Herlado, via AFP, brings a nice story on him today. They say even though Argentina got used to left-footed stars like Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi scoring most of their goals, it’s now a right-footed midfielder who’s been using the number 10 and honouring it.

Besides praising Mac Allister a lot, they also talk a little about his move, calling the transfer ‘controversial’ a couple of times. They say his father has been criticised at Boca Juniors for having left them aside once his son decided to move to Brighton.

“The best thing is to be thinking about this tournament,” said Carlos Mac Allister, refusing to feed the controversy.
