With Tottenham Hotspur target Pedro living a dramatic situation at Flamengo, major Brazilian outlets such as UOL now wonder if he’s leaving his club this summer.

Before we get into the story, we must explain what happened on Saturday, with an incident which took over the local sports media in the past few days.

Pedro had recently lost his place in Flamengo’s starting team, with Jorge Sampaoli leaving him on the bench. During the weekend’s clash against Atlético Mineiro, the striker refused to warm up, and that led to an argument with fitness coach Pablo Fernandez.

While this went on, the assistant reportedly punched the striker in the face, with the player even making a police report about what happened.

Fernandes has already been sacked from his job, Pedro is set to be punished for his behaviour and didn’t take part in training on Monday, as he claimed to be at his dentist.

Now, what do Tottenham have to do with this? Well, the English media this month revealed Spurs’ interest in Pedro, with Brazilian reports saying the player is aware of the chase.

UOL’s story explains his current situation, pointing out a move to another Brazilian club is extremely unlikely, since he wouldn’t be able to play for a new side in any other major tournament this season, as he already participated in the league, the Copa Libertadores and Brazilian Cup.

The outlet even claims the striker could end up leaving his club using legal arguments. That way, he’d become a free agent and interested clubs wouldn’t have to pay a fee.

Outlet Coluna Do Fla is another one analysing the situation, claiming Flamengo understand they can sell the player if a good offer arrives.

Regarding Tottenham, they claim that despite the approach made by Spurs, the club did not advance with their interest.

Now we shall see if this situation could convince them to do so, especially with Harry Kane looking closer to a departure.
