Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin is waiting for Real Betis or Barcelona to make their move for him, despite receiving an offer from Udinese.
That’s according to Sport, who say the salary situation at both clubs makes his signing ‘complicated’ at this moment in time.
They explain that Bellerin ‘continues to shuffle his cards’ as he negotiates a departure from Arsenal.
His contract at the Emirates expires next summer but he wants to leave on a free this year and then join either Barcelona or Betis. He also has an offer from Udinese but wants to play in Spain after his loan with Betis last year.
A return is determined by the salary conditions at both clubs, with neither able to currently register players as they are at their limits.
In the meantime, he is negotiating with Arsenal to release him from his contract but it ‘could take until end of August’ for that to happen.
That gives Barcelona and Betis time to work out their finances to open up space to sign Bellerin, with the former considering him as a Plan B, particularly if they can sell Sergiño Dest this summer.
