Defender Davinson Sanchez has been ‘devalued’ by his move from Tottenham to Galatasaray this summer, continuing a worrying trend for the player.
That’s according to the Colombian edition of AS, who cover the player today and his even decreasing transfer value.
The newspaper explains that the centre-back has undergone a ‘new fall’ in his value this summer after swapping Tottenham for Turkey at the end of the summer transfer window.
They say that while he remains in the top five of the most expensive Colombians, he’s yet to get his graph rising again.
The defender elected to move to Galatasaray after being ‘relegated’ at Tottenham, although he had to wait until after the international break to make his debut.
Using the data from Transfermarkt, AS say the former Tottenham man has endured his ‘eleventh consecutive fall’ to €14m, a drop of €1m from when the ratings were last handed out in June.
Although the drop is a ‘minimal’ one, it means the centre-back is yet to correct a slide that has seen his value drop by almost €50m since December 2019.
His highest point came four years ago during his time at Tottenham, when he was valued at around €60m, but he’s since endured 11 straight drops to his current price of €14m.
Fortunately for him he remains in the top five ranked Colombian players, with Luiz Diaz leading the race, Luis Sinisterra and Jefferson Lerma coming in next and fourth place going to Wilmar Barrios.
Of course, it’s all subjective as Transfermarkt isn’t an exact science, to say the least, and the Colombian media do tend to be rather dramatic when it comes to covering their players. Still, it makes for interesting reading and shows that Sanchez’s Tottenham exit is yet to have it’s desired effect.
