As you might recall, Mislav Orsic was bought by Southampton last January in an effort from the Saints to reinforce their attack and avoid relegation.

That didn’t go to plan, as the club ended up back in the Championship, and one of the first transfer deals to go through was the sale of the Croatian to Trabzonspor.

Well, his time in Turkey has quickly turned into a nightmare, as the club revealed on Monday that the former Southampton forward has suffered a very bad injury in training, relayed by Cumhuriyet.

A statement from the Turkish side state that following an MRI, they discovered that the winger suffered an ‘anterior cruciate ligament tear and an internal lateral ligament injury’ in his right knee.

Therefore, the player, who left Southampton just a few weeks ago, will now have to undergo surgery and recover before being able to showcase his talent in an official game for the Süper Lig side.

The 30-year-old only ever made five appearances for the Saints during his time at St Mary’s, failing to score or provide an assist in that time.
