Manchester City are reportedly on the verge of signing the Sporting youngster Félix Correia.
According to newspaper O Jogo, the teenager travelled to England last night, followed by his agent Eduardo Marinho, and should soon become a Manchester City player.
The outlet reports Félix is expected to sign a five-year deal with the Premier League champions, with the Lions making €7m from the sale.
Sporting tried to hold Correia at the club for longer, but the fact that he didn’t accept a new contract has forced the Lisbon side to sell him, since his current deal expires in 2020.
O Jogo says the player is still having his medical before signing the contract, and is likely to be presented by Manchester City on Tuesday.
It’s claimed the likes of Barcelona and Juventus were also interested in Correia, but it was Manchester City who won the race.
The 18-year-old had been playing for Sporting’s academy, and never made his debut for the first team.
