Takefusa Kubo joined Real Madrid in the summer and they allowed him to go out on loan to Mallorca. He started for the latter in their league defeat to Barcelona last Saturday.
Two days ago, Mundo Deportivo reported the 18-year-old considered returning to Barcelona, but the La Liga winners’ unwillingness to meet his and his agent’s economic demands allowed Kubo to join Real Madrid.
Ernesto Valverde’s side face Real Sociedad tomorrow and the fixture would see the Spanish champions come across another Real Madrid loanee, Martin Ødegaard.
Even though the Norway international arrived in Madrid in 2015, he is yet to face Barcelona.
Friday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo explains that prior to joining the 13-time European champions, the attacking midfielder visited Barcelona’s facilities. It’s claimed Ødegaard was delighted with almost everything about the Catalan club.
However, the deal never took shape because of the economic conditions imposed by the 20-year-old’s agent and Ødegaard felt the Real Madrid option was exciting.
Ahead of the upcoming clash between Barcelona and Sociedad, Mundo state it’s ‘A challenge for the player. An advantage for the Real. A risk for Barça’.
