The Italian media doesn’t sound very confident that Serie A sides can win the battle for Santiago Gimenez, and Tottenham Hotspur is one of the major reasons for that.
It’s well known that the Feyenoord striker is wanted by multiple clubs, and CalcioMercato.it now shares a story claiming some Premier League sides may have a big advantage.
The outlet points out that Gimenez’s trip to London with his agent and family, to watch Tottenham playing Arsenal, is one of the ‘signs’ he shouldn’t go to Italy.
It’s pointed out that Spurs and Gunners are two of the clubs who are in the fight to sign him, and his visit should be no coincidence. The player’s agent had been expected to meet clubs in England and Italy and the list is seen as a concrete confirmation of that.
Gimenez is expected to ‘set the market on fire’, even though Feyenoord are in absolutely no rush to sell him this summer.
The Dutch club’s intention is said to be to make something around €50m with his sale. The Premier League clubs are in the ‘front row’, and we shall see if his visit to Tottenham will turn into a big attempt from Spurs.
