Antonio Barragán’s deal to join Middlesbrough is moving quickly. Reports from Spain had suggested that the talks to finalise a deal would happen next week, but it seems that the transfer is pretty much done.
According to Cope, the player has missed a training session this morning to arrange his move out of the club. He has already traveled to England for a medical and should be part of Aitor Karanka’s squad soon, all ready for pre-season games.
The transfer was reportedly agreed on Tuesday or Wednesday, depending who you wish to believe, when Boro representatives were negotiating the signings of both Barragán and Álvaro Negredo.
From what we’ve covered in the past few days, Middlesbrough should pay around €3m for the right-back, who will sign a three-year deal. As Negredo’s deal is a lot more complicated, it should take a bit more time.
