Leeds United are again looking to Italy to recruit new players following claims they are targeting Bari’s Valerio Di Cesare. The Championship side have just loaned out Giuseppe Bellusci, and they see the former Chelsea youth player as an ideal replacement.

TMW have revealed in the past hour Leeds United are giving serious consideration to signing Di Cesare this summer.

Garry Monk is hoping to strengthen in defence after the departure of Bellusci, and Di Cesare is an option open to the club. It’s been claimed Leeds United will possibly approach Bari with regards to signing the 33-year-old in this transfer window.

Di Cesare started out at the Lazio youth academy, but finished his apprenticeship with Chelsea. The defender never made a senior appearance for the Premier League side, and subsequently moved back to Italy.

The veteran has played for a number of Italian sides including Torino, Brescia, Vicenza, and more recently Bari.
