Erling Braut Håland has constantly managed to get his name on the scoresheet throughout his young career, but the striker announced himself to the world when he netted a hat-trick on his Champions League debut against Genk.

Earlier this month, we covered claims that Manchester United had sent their scouts to watch the 19-year-old in action for Red Bull Salzburg, where he has already netted 17 goals and registered five assists in 10 matches.

Apart from the Red Devils, other clubs (like Barcelona) have also scouted the Norway international.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer managed his compatriot when the duo were at Molde and the player has hailed the Manchester United manager while speaking to Norway’s TV2.

“He has had a huge impact on my life, both as a person and as a trainer. He won the Champions League and was an incredibly good player. He has taught me a lot. Solskjaer is a fantastic person and a very good coach. He is one of the reasons I am here today,” the Salzburg star said.

On his future, he added: “I have dreamed of playing for the best clubs in the world my whole life, and I especially like English football.”

Håland’s comments come just days after his father Alf-Inge Håland made it clear that his past association with Leeds United and Manchester City would not be an issue if his son wants to join United.

Solskjaer’s presence would give the club a clear advantage over others in the youngster’s chase, provided they are keen on signing him.
