The big stories over a Bayern Munich free exit this summer have revolved around David Alaba, with the Austrian looking to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of June.

He’s not the only one in such a situation, with Jerome Boateng seeing his contract coming to an end with no renewal in sight. The 32-year-old, who turns 33 at the beginning of September, isn’t getting the same level of attention as Alaba, but there’s been claims Tottenham are keen to do a deal.

Such a move would be typical of Mourinho, bringing in an experienced player on high wages and hoping for a quick benefit. Manchester United were also linked with Boateng when the Portuguese manager was in charge at Old Trafford.

Bild journalist Christian Falk reports the defender is ‘honoured’ over Tottenham interest, however, there’s been no negotiations so far regarding a potential move.

Boateng has some Premier League experience, having represented Manchester City earlier in his career.
