Seen as a promising talent at the centre-back position when he was at RC Lens, Loïc Badé’s career hasn’t quite gone to plan since he joined Stade Rennais.
So much so that he was loaned out to Nottingham Forest for the season with an option to buy, which the French club will have been hoping the newly promoted side would end up triggering.
The reality, however, is very different after nine games in the Premier League, as Nottingham Forest have yet to use the player in any game, with him not even making the bench to date.
This isn’t at all what Badé or Rennes will have wanted, and there is now early talk of him potentially returning to the Ligue 1 side.
Foot-Sur7 explain the player is ‘down in the dumps’ at Nottingham Forest, with his situation showing no sign of improving going forward.
If he were to return to Rennes, that would also be €14m the club would miss out; the amount needed to trigger the option to buy.
As for what his future holds in France, the club signed Christopher Wooh from Lens for €9m to compensate for Badé’s exit, meaning he would find even more competition to get a spot in the team.
