Ivan Perisic has left Inter Milan’s training camp, according to various reports in the Italian media.

FC Inter 1908 report that the player has received permission to leave the camp due to a dental abscess. Rather than Inter calling someone to their training base in northern Italy, Perisic has instead been allowed to leave and go and see his personal dentist in Croatia.

This is obviously leading to further doubt about the player’s future, although it may be entirely unrelated. The big question is whether this is genuine toothache or a transfer related issue.

Corriere dello Sport sound suspicious, saying the trip to Croatia will also give Perisic the chance to talk with his family and entourage, and they wonder whether the footballer will travel to China with Inter on Tuesday, or if a better Manchester United offer is on the way.

A couple of days ago, Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Perisic to Manchester United could be completed ‘in 24 hours’, once the Premier League club meet Inter’s demands.

That’s because personal terms have already been agreed, so Perisic would simply travel to complete the move and join Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.

Friday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport described Perisic as ‘nervous’ about his potential transfer and not being in the best of moods at Inter’s training camp. The newspaper said Perisic had an altercation with a journalist who had been following him too closely, and the atmosphere around the player wasn’t great.

Maybe it was the start of his toothache.
