Unable to find space for himself with Antonio Conte at Tottenham, Tanguy Ndombélé ended up finding himself a new club, at least temporarily, at Napoli.

Unfortunately for Tottenham, he hasn’t quite been a regular, and there has been talk he could return in the summer.

Whether he does or doesn’t remains to be seen, and the next Tottenham manager could welcome his ability, depending on who that is, but what is clear is that he’s enjoyed his living in Naples so far, as the midfielder spoke to So Foot, relayed by Foot11, about his time at the club to date.

He said: “I was told that playing at Napoli was good, but it could quickly become complicated. Here, when you win, it goes rather well, but when the results aren’t there… Honestly, I’ve never known such an atmosphere. In Naples, when you go in the street, when you go to a restaurant or go for a walk, people jump on you.”

The Serie A side were happy to welcome him for the season on loan, and there was hope from Spurs’ end that he could impress enough to earn himself a full transfer, which is why an option to buy of around €30m was added in the deal.

For now, though, unless a new, cheaper deal can be struck with the Italians, it seems a move back to London could be on the cards for the Tottenham man.
