Despite the big race which seems to be forming for Benfica striker Carlos Vinícius, his club are reportedly not interested in selling him.

It’s Portuguese newspaper O Jogo who comes up with this information today, saying the Eagles would like to hold the striker for at least one more season.

The outlet mentions the interest from Manchester United, and now covers reports saying AC Milan have joined the race for the Brazilian as well.

O Jogo says Benfica are ‘satisfied’ with the striker’s form, and believe he could get even better results if he stays in Lisbon for ‘one more year’.

With the Coronavirus crisis forcing clubs to spend less, the next transfer market is also seen as a bad time to sell the star, so the Eagles would rather wait and get a better fee for him.

To put this plan into practice, they would offer the 25-year-old a new contract.

Carlos Vinícius has 20 goals and 12 assists for Benfica this season. Reports from Brazil have been saying Manchester United could pay up to €60m for his signing, which sounds vastly overpriced.
