There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Fenerbahce are showing interest in Nottingham Forest midfielder Nicolás Domínguez.

It’s been well documented in recent weeks that Fener manager Jose Mourinho wants to sign a central midfielder this summer and Domínguez looks to be the latest option for the Portuguese coach.

Sabah today report on Fenerbahce’s pursuit for a midfielder, and state the Nottingham Forest player is on their wish list, along with Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat, Burnley’s Sander Berge and Manchester United’s Scott McTominay.

With Fred set to be on the sidelines for the start of the season due to a knee injury, the Super Lig club have stepped up their efforts to strengthen midfield. There’s been reports today they are hoping to announce the arrival of a central midfielder this week, which may be a little optimistic.

The Istanbul club have also been linked with Domínguez’s teammate Ibrahim Sangare this summer.

Domínguez made 29 appearances last season for Forest, scoring three gaols. He’s contracted to the Premier League side until June 2028.
