Nottingham Forest target held meeting with manager about future – Talks ongoing for loan deal

Brazilian correspondent in Spain Gustavo Hofman now comes up with a few updates on Nottingham Forest’s pursuit for Atletico Madrid fullback Renan Lodi.

The ESPN journalist writes that last week, there was a meeting between the player and manager Diego Simeone.

There, the 24-year-old claimed he’d like to have more minutes, and if that wasn’t possible, he’d rather leave.

Hofman adds that Nottingham Forest are in talks with Atletico Madrid for a season-long loan, even though there are no updates on how the negotiations have been going.

Earlier today, we’ve seen a report from Italy claiming there are actually three clubs in this operation, because in case Lodi moves to the City Ground, then Atleti would end up going after a replacement, who could be Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham Hotspur, with talks already taking place.

This isn’t the first time Nottingham Forest try to sign a left-back in La Liga this summer, as the Tricky Trees were already turned down by Real Betis player Alex Moreno, who ended up going public to say he preferred to stay at the Spanish club.
