Earlier today, Nottingham Forest midfielder Gustavo Scarpa posted an Instagram story showing he was at an airport, adding a Greece flag to it.

As ESPN Brasil comes up to cover the story, they bring a few more details on the player’s transfer out of the City Ground.

The outlet claims Scarpa is joining Olympiacos, with Nottingham Forest loaning him out for a year.

As previously reported by ESPN, the midfielder had a chance to prove himself to Steve Cooper during the pre-season, but couldn’t impress in the minutes he had.

Olympiacos soon got interested in his signing, and with the two clubs belonging to Evangelos Marinakis, it didn’t take a lot of work to get the player from Nottingham Forest.

Signed by the Tricky Trees as a free agent in January, Scarpa only made 10 appearances for the club. Last season, he struggled with injuries and personal problems, which are still being sorted in the Brazilian court.

His contract with Nottingham Forest runs until 2026, so we shall see whether he’ll still have a chance to play for the Reds after this or if he will stay in Greece for the foreseeable future.
