Nottingham Forest are working on the signing of Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho.
That’s according to French journalist Santi Aouna, who writes that the Tricky Trees have now ‘opened talks’ to land the 26-year-old this summer.
Iheanacho is said to be ‘on top of the list’ for Nottingham Forest, and the Reds’ idea is to close the deal ‘in the next days’.
Following Leicester City’s relegation to the Championship, the striker is one of the players who are expected to leave the club this summer, and is heavily linked to a departure.
As well as ‘big offers’ from Saudi Arabia, it was claimed five Premier League clubs asked about him.
So Nottingham Forest are surely not alone in this race, and besides having to worry about the big Saudi money, they should also be concerned about the English sides who can offer the player similar conditions.
With such an auction about to take place, that can only be good for Leicester City.
