Nottingham Forest have missed out on the signing of Brazilian striker Brenner.

On Wednesday, Italian side Udinese announced the signing of the Cincinnati player, confirming he’s moving to the Serie A this summer.

The club didn’t give many details on the transfer, but as Goal Brasil write a more detailed piece on the move, they mention the battle with Nottingham Forest.

The outlet writes that Udinese had initially offered €8m for the signing, but with the race for the 23-year-old, they ended up buying him for €10m.

Goal Brasil say that Udinese managed to ‘overcome the competition of Nottingham Forest and beyond’ to land the striker.

The Tricky Trees had indeed been linked to Brenner for a while, as reports from back in January had been talking about their attempt to sign him.

His staff even told the Brazilian media that they were ‘trying’ to make the move to Nottingham Forest back then, but the price and the little time left in the window were two big obstacles. Now Udinese managed to get it done even before the summer market opens.
