At the end of the summer window, we covered Nottingham Forest being linked to São Paulo midfielder Pablo Maia.

It was reported by journalist Jorge Nicola that the Tricolor were notified about Forest interest in the player, and there was a ‘promise’ an offer would arrive for his transfer to the Premier League.

Nothing actually happened at that time, but as we get to see some updates on Pablo Maia’s situation today, Nottingham Forest are still mentioned as a potential destination for him.

Jorge Nicola today features a video talking about Fulham’s attempt to sign the midfielder. It’s said the Whites are willing to pay between €6m and €7m for the signing.

São Paulo, however, won’t open negotiations for less than €10m, as they’re well aware of the potential the player has. With the Brazilian season ending next month, they seem fine with negotiating a January transfer.

Despite the video being mostly about Fulham, Nicola adds that Nottingham Forest continue to monitor Pablo Maia’s steps. So if they really want to get the transfer done, they now know how much it will take, besides the competition from their Premier League rivals.
