Atlético Mineiro’s negotiations to sign Gustavo Scarpa from Nottingham Forest suddenly became a big story in Brazil.
It was UOL who broke the news on Friday morning, and several outlets now back up that the talks are on.
It’s the very same journalist Bruno Andrade who now shares some updates on Nottingham Forest’s requests for the transfer.
It’s now claimed that the Tricky Trees are demanding between €5m and €6m to let the player go, as they won’t put many obstacles in the negotiation.
The report makes it clear that the negotiation does not include other expenses, such as signing bonuses for player and agent.
We now need to wait and see is if Scarpa will actually want to make a move back to Brazil. Many reports had been claiming he still wanted to prove himself in Europe, and according to IG, he still hasn’t made a decision regarding a return to his home country.
The midfielder is currently loaned by Nottingham Forest to Olympiakos until the end of the season. His contract with the Tricky Trees runs until 2026.
