Having found success at Inter under Antonio Conte, it was always expected that Romelu Lukaku would be linked with a move to Tottenham at some point.

His return to the Premier League hasn’t really gone to plan, scoring 12 goals in 35 appearances since coming back to England.

With rumours that Harry Kane could still leave, the Belgian had been touted as a potential replacement, but that is something Italian journalist Alfio Musmarra doesn’t see happening.

In fact, he doesn’t really see the Chelsea star ending up anywhere other than Stamford Bridge this summer, despite claims that Inter could try and bring him back in the next transfer window.

When it came to a move to Spurs, where the striker could be reunited with a manager he got along with, he told Telelombardia, relayed by FC Inter 1908: “Tottenham don’t want to make that kind of investment for a 29-year-old player. It’s not in their philosophy.”

We’ll have to wait and see, because the sale of Harry Kane would need an immediate replacement, which the Belgian would provide.

That being said, he would be coming from a city rival, and would be very expensive, especially when it comes to his wages.

Either way, Tottenham are likely to look elsewhere should they look for a striker, regardless of how much of a Conte favourite the Blues man is.
