While Fred is one of the players that Manchester United are trying to offload from their midfield, he isn’t the only one.

Another unwanted player in Erik ten Hag’s squad is Donny van de Beek, who was sporadically used by the Dutchman last season, even though the pair worked wonders together at Ajax Amsterdam.

That’s why he is a Manchester United player that is being offered around, with Real Sociedad being the latest to have the Netherlands international’s name land on their desk, which comes from Radio Marca, courtesy of Yon Cuezva on La Pizarra de Quintana.

He explains that Van de Beek is ‘another name that has been mentioned’ as a possible arrival at the Spanish side, and could have followed the impending signing of André Silva from Eintracht Frankfurt.

However, Cuezvo states that ‘it’s not going to happen’, because there are things that ‘don’t convince’ the La Liga side of signing him.

What those are isn’t said, but that’s another setback for the Manchester United midfielder, who has found it tough at Old Trafford ever since he was first signed by the Red Devils in 2020.
