On Wednesday, SportBild stated Bayern Munich have made contact with Antonio Rüdiger’s brother, Sahr Senesie, who is also the agent of the Chelsea star.
These claims are backed up by Spox and they state the Germany international is not a priority for the Bavarian club. They will only consider the Blues centre-back if Niklas Süle leaves next summer.
As per the report, talks between Bayern and Süle’s camp are currently suspended. His contract expires in 2022 and it’s not clear what his plans are for the future.
Rüdiger also has a contract expiring at the end of this season. The west London club’s bosses want to extend his stay, regardless of their desire to sign other players in the same position.
The ex-AS Roma man is ‘still a long way from a double-digit million amount’. He currently earns €7m per season, including bonuses. Rüdiger is demanding €230,000 per week, which comes to around €11m annually.
Chelsea, however, are ‘only willing to pay 70 percent of the amount’ requested by the 28-year-old. Therefore, ‘there is no quick solution in sight’ in the talks between the two parties, that started in August.
Rüdiger’s current situation at Chelsea will make other European clubs take notice as Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germian are monitoring his case.
