Olivier Giroud was wanted by Serie A sides in the last three transfer windows, but a deal never materialised for various reasons.

In May 2020, Chelsea extended the striker’s contract and stopped him from leaving the west London club in the last summer transfer window.

The France international has 11 goals in 27 matches in all competitions and he continues to have a market in Italy.

His current deal expires on June 30th, and according to Calciomercato, ‘there will be no more obstacles’ from the Blues to stop the 34-year-old from leaving Stamford Bridge after this season.

The former Arsenal man has lost his place under Thomas Tuchel as he has not started a league match since the goalless draw against Manchester United on February 28th.

In the winter market, Juventus manager Andrea Pirlo made his desire public to sign the World Cup winner.

The ‘esteem’ for the frontman from Pirlo and his club’s management still remains, but Juve chief Fabio Paratici is ‘no hurry’ to close Giroud’s signing in the next market, when he will be available on a free transfer.

That’s because the Chelsea player is ‘not considered a priority’ for the Turin club next season.
