Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven has admitted he “could consider” a move to Liverpool this summer if a deal was proposed.
The youngster has been speaking to Voetbal International while on international duty with the Netherlands after something of a breakout season for him.
He was a regular for Wolfsburg this season, making 33 appearances in the Bundesliga and featuring in 97% of the available minutes in the first team.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, with several sides reported to be keeping an eye on the 22-year-old ahead of a possible move for him.
Liverpool are one of them, with the Reds reportedly keen to add to their defence this summer and find a young player to develop alongside Virgil van Dijk.
VI have brought the subject up again in a conversation with the youngster, and he once again confirmed he’s aware of the rumours.
“Of course, I have heard, read that too. But as I said: the media must also have something to write about,” he said.
“There are of course a lot of people who make lines. It is true that the director went there, and I know that Liverpool followed me before. But at the moment I don’t know about anything. Whether I think Liverpool is a nice club? Of course!
“If a nice club comes along that has a clear plan with me, I could consider a move. Then in that sense you are open to it.
“There’s a chance I’ll just play in the Bundesliga after this summer, but there’s also a chance I’ll make a transfer. We’ll see. Just finish this season first.”
