It had been coming.

Ever since the end of the 2015-16 season, the future of N’Golo Kanté was up in the air, with many of the bigger clubs around Europe all vying for the 25-year-old’s services.

Moves to Manchester City and even Juventus were reported as being on the cards, but ultimately, it’s Chelsea and Antonio Conte who have won the battle for one of the best players in the Premier League last season.

According to the vey reliable Mohamed Bouhafsi and RMC Sport, the deal is now completely done, and the French midfielder will sign a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge with the London club paying Leicester €36m (£30m).

Bouhafsi also stated the played rejected offers from two other big Premier League clubs as well as a big European club after being convinced by Antonio Conte’s and Chelsea’s project.

The deal had been reported as close to being done two days ago by Le Parisien, and it seems their information was spot on.

Considering the hard working football Antonio Conte likes to play, can you think of a better player for his midfield (other than maybe Radja Nainggolan)?

We can’t.
