Newcastle United striker Salomon Rondon, who’s having a loan spell from West Bromwich Albion, made a request on his Twitter account on Wednesday evening.
With the Venezuelan player speaking Spanish, most Premier League fans obviously didn’t know what it’s about.
Salomon was asking was help for his country, with the South American country in crisis.
“Venezuela is submerged in an abysmal crisis and this is not a secret for anyone. Health, food and security for Venezuelans are a luxury that very few can be given and once again the dictatorship has been responsible for complicating the way for our country to be able to move forward.”

Perhaps the problem in Venezuela is too complex to explain in a single article, but summing up the latest developments, the Maduro government has refused US backed humanitarian aid from entering the country.
Obviously, the greatest fear of the Venezuelan government is that the aid from the US will come with political ends, since it would be their interest to take power away from Maduro.
With Brazil joining the United States to send aid over the weekend, the Venezuelan government has already begun to move the army to its borders and stop any entrance.
The Newcastle United player wants backing for tomorrow because it’s expected there’ll be an effort to get the aid through. Earlier this month, Juan Guaido, who many countries now recognise as the country’s leader said aid will get through on February 23rd.
