For the past week, the Spanish media has been reporting Deportivo Alavés’ interest in signing the Newcastle United striker Joselu.

With the player not getting a lot of minutes under Rafa Benitez this season, he could be leaving the Magpies with one year left in his contract.

Now Radio Marca managed to speak to Joselu himself about the matter. And although players normally avoid to comment on transfer rumours, he didn’t mind saying there’s a real possibility he may be moving in the summer.

“I have one year left at Newcastle, I have possibilities to move but it will depend on the new board that will come to the club”, Joselu told Radio Marca.

Joselu has also alerted Spanish clubs who want to sign him, making it clear that the Premier League transfer window doesn’t last long.

“The market in the Premier League ends on August 8, so I am attentive to the movements that may occur with me.”

Joselu signed for Newcastle on a €5.5m deal from Stoke City back in 2017.

He had two similar seasons for the Magpies, getting four goals and one assist in the first one, and three goals and one assist in the last one.
