Frank de Boer managed five games as Crystal Palace manager, out of which he won only one, which came in the EFL Cup clash against Ipswich Town.

In the remaining four matches, the Eagles failed to score even a single goal in the league and De Boer was sacked just 10 weeks after his appointment.

De Boer has been without a job since last September, but that could change this summer. According to the Dutch newspaper AD, De Boer could be back on the touchline if Swansea City appoints him as their new manager.

The former Ajax defender is the “top candidate” to replace Carvalhal at the Liberty Stadium. Swansea have long been interested in bringing De Boer to the club, having tried to acquire his services for the past two seasons.

De Boer lost his job at Inter and Palace because he had players that didn’t fit his system, and the Dutch newspaper say the squads were overloaded with unsuitable players who were too hard to sell.

AD has warned the Dutchman could be in a similar situation at Swansea.
