Facundo Pellistri’s agent, Edgardo Lasalvia, has insisted that Manchester United need to let his client go this month to get regular playing time.

Pellistri has been a part of Erik ten Hag’s squad this season after spending last year out on loan but has only made one appearance to date, a six minute cameo, in which he registered an assist, in the EFL Cup with Charlton at the beginning of October.

That is less than ideal for a player who needs regular playing time to aid his development but Manchester United are uninterested in letting him go this month.

They have indicated that they want to keep the Uruguayan in their squad for the remainder of the season, despite reports in Brazil that they are in ‘advanced talks’ with Flamengo about a loan deal.

His agent commented on that possible deal today, revealing that Manchester United would only sanction it if they received a ‘good offer’.

He’s now urged them to think about their stance on the player insisting that he need to be playing regularly.

“It’s clear to us that Manchester United want Facu Pellistri to stay at the club, one of the greatest in the world. However, we need him to play. There are many options in Europe for him,” journalist Sebas Giovanelli report him saying to Sport 890.

Whether that is enough to change United’s mind remains to be seen but it seems Pellistri’s agent is very much pushing for a transfer to happen, putting him on course for a head to head with Ten Hag and co.
