Feyenoord manager Arne Slot being invited for an interview with Tottenham means “nothing at all” at this moment in time.

That’s according to former Feyenoord star Pascal Bosschart, who believes Slot will have wanted to make the trip to London simply to check out the situation at Spurs.

Slot has been impressing with the Dutch side this season, leading them to the top of the Eredivisie with an attractive and exciting brand of football.

That’s earned him plenty of attention from England, where Leeds tried hard to secure his signature earlier this season when they were looking for Jesse Marsch’s replacement.

It is now Tottenham who are believed to be keen on him, with several reports making it clear Slot is on their list of candidates to replace Antonio Conte.

Indeed, a report earlier this week indicated that the Dutch manager had been invited for an interview with Daniel Levy and co, a further indication of the esteem they seemingly hold him in.

Bosschart, though, believes that even if Slot has travelled to Tottenham, that is not an indication he could be about to take over at the club.

“Clubs like that always invite trainers,” he said.

“Trainers who are doing well go for interviews there. It says nothing at all, even if he has been there.

“It also seems only natural to me that he should also broaden his horizons and go and look in the kitchen of a big club.”
