Marcos Rojo’s transfer back to Estudiantes is all but done, according to… his own mom.
As covered by La Plata outlet El Dia, the defender’s mother has made a post on Instagram where she announced that the player is returning to his home town.
She wrote: “The day came, you come home. How long I have been dreaming about this moment. Welcome to your home, to your place, in the arms of mommy that misses you so much. I wish you the best in your return to your dear Estudiantes, may God bless you and enlighten you, I love you with my soul. Mommy ❤️❤️❤️❤️”.
The announcement doesn’t come up as a surprise to the Argentine media, since they had been pretty confident he would be agreeing the move this month.
TNT have just release a story as well, saying he only needs to sign the contract so the transfer can be made official by the Argentinian side.
It’s said Manchester United were planning to loan Rojo to a European side, but in the end, Estudiantes won the race, with negotiations led by former Red Devils midfielder Juan Sebastian Verón.
Although Rojo was expected to be loaned for six months, TNT says there are contract issues which only allow him to go for at least one year. So he’s staying at Estudiantes until January 2021.
