Having signed Matheus Nunes, Wolverhampton Wanderers could have felt they were set in midfield, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

According to Football365 in France, via their very respected journalist Patrick Juillard, they are still trying to sign Boubacar Traoré, currently at FC Metz in Ligue 2, who is now ‘close to signing’ for Wolves.

This comes after an article earlier this month explaining that the Premier League side had given their French counterparts a decision to make, which was to either sell him now for €6-8m or loan him and include an obligation to buy for €10m next year.

Well, Football365 reveal the player is now ‘closer than ever’ to leaving Metz, as Wolves have now made an offer ‘likely to satisfy the demands’ of the Ligue 2 side, which was to get close to €10m.

The exact amount isn’t revealed, but it appears that the French club held out long enough to make the Molineux side sweat a bit, eventually forcing their hand into making them find the cash to get the desired amount right away.

We’ll have to see how this affair concludes, but it appears Wolves could be on the verge of signing the 21-year-old.
