Brighton and Hove Albion star Leandro Trossard could be a target Graham Potter at Chelsea in the January transfer window.

That’s according to analyst Johan Boskamp, who has suggested the possible move following Potter’s move to Stamford Bridge this week.

The 47-year-old swapped Brighton for Chelsea on Friday, with the Blues moving quickly to secure his signature following their decision to sack Thomas Tuchel after the loss to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.

With the January transfer window, a while off yet, his focus will currently be on improving Chelsea’s form and working with what he has.

He will find one familiar face at his new club in the form of Marc Cucurella, though, with the Spaniard also having swapped Brighton for Chelsea this summer.

When it does come to making his own signings, there is a chance Potter will look to his former club, particularly with the Blues hierarchy keen to focus on younger players moving forwards.

Boskamp, though, believes it is 27-year-old Trossard who could end up being targeted by his ex-coach.

“Too bad, because that Graham Potter has really put down something beautiful at Brighton,” Voetbal Primeur report him saying.

“Apparently Chelsea pays them a ransom of almost twenty million euro. He may win a few Champions Leagues for that.

“Under Potter, he (Trossard) grew into a strong holder in the Premier League. Hopefully he will stay that way under his successor. I’m not too worried because his form will last.

“Maybe Potter will come and get him during the winter.
