Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-0 victory over Manchester City at the weekend has made news all over the football world.

It isn’t just the scoreline receiving attention, but the manner in which Tottenham won the game. Mauricio Pochettino’s side looked comfortable against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, and probably should have scored more goals, especially considering Erik Lamela failed with a penalty.

The Spanish newspaper point out that no other manager has won as many points against Guardiola as Pochettino has.

The Tottenham manager has managed 10 points against Guardiola teams, with Espanyol and his current club.

The points achieved with Espanyol are probably even more impressive given that Barcelona’s ‘other club’ were struggling at the time, and Guardiola’s Barca were sweeping most of what was before them.

Pochettino’s star continues to rise in Spain, and around the football world, so it’s comforting to Tottenham fans that almost any chance he gets he reiterates his commitment to the club.
